Linings, not complete shoes

This set is the friction material and the rivets, for riveting onto shoes you already have. It is the traditional and economical route on this platform, and it is why the set arrives as four bare curved linings rather than as finished assemblies.

If your shoes are corroded, distorted or the rivet holes are worn oval, fit complete shoe assemblies instead. Riveting new linings to a tired shoe wastes the lining.

Riveting and bedding in

Rivet from the centre outwards so the lining pulls down flat against the shoe. A lining that is proud at one end grabs, and the high spot glazes instead of bedding.

Set all four together and renew a full axle at a time. Mixed old and new linings across an axle pull the vehicle to one side under braking.
